Personal Composer is still officially available from the European dealer at www.educatieve-media.nl

What is the latest version? 2.0.1 or 3.0? I know that the version 3.0 was published in the year 2008. But here, they say the latest version is 2.0.1. It is very confused.

I find it pretty non-intuitive. Can’t select things. Can’t hide or delete thing. Help keeps referring to handles which don’t exist. “Use the right button” what?! Right mouse button? Right pallet button? WHAT right button?! Help file was an afterthought, clearly.

Robert, I've used Personal Composer for over 23 years and am on version 3.0; however, although I now use a Mac I have to run an old version of Windows XP to make the most of it! Unfortunately, for me with many 1000s of tunes and arrangements it won't transfer to any other composition program though I can produce very good printable copies. It still has a few annoying glitches that appear when I'm solely using a QWERTY keyboard but on the whole I find it quite intuitive once you know the rubrics.

Patrick, I've also used Personal Composer forever . . . Actually since the very first edition in the late 80's. And like you I have literally thousands of tunes and arrangements. I'm still using it - on an old PC that's kinda on it's last leg. But the program still works great for what I do (which is primarily arrangements for print - altho by now most of the ensembles I write for have gone to using pdfs on tablets instead of paper). I'd very much like to talk with you about what I would need to do to get Personal Composer to run on a NEW PC. Of course I have my old CD copies of the program, but no CD drive on any machine I own anymore.
